Do you need to make a change in your life?

Life has thrown me many challenges, it still does, but I’ve learnt through the power of coaching to see challenges as opportunities for personal growth and change. It’s not easy but with someone by your side, knowing that they’re there to support you, can be motivating and inspiring. Please reach out to experience a coaching session and then lets see how we might work together.

My experience and training

It takes courage to recognise that change may be needed in your life.

'Stuart gave me simple, decisive actions to take each week and with every session I really had the sense of things shifting and moving in the right direction.'

As a qualified and accredited Relational Dynamics Life Coach and a member of the Association for Coaching with an ADHD Coaching Diploma, I coach individuals, groups and teams in the workplace, my approach always being:

  • person centred

  • solution focused

  • designed to build on your strengths

By being person centred my approach allows me support people in their personal lives, in work, through education and training. But making change can be hard, but I will be with you every step of the way.

'I both thoroughly enjoyed, and benefited from my coaching sessions with Stuart, and warmly recommend him to others. He is an excellent, attentive, intelligent, and deeply respectful listener.'

Currently, I work with leaders of small to middle scale business; leaders, artists and practitioners in the creative industries; neurodiverse adults and young people. This includes 1:1 coaching in person or online, or group and team coaching.

Coaching practice

Accredited by Culture at Work and Relational Dynamics 1st, I take a person centred approach. My training comes from a rich history of psychology, emotional intelligence, NLP and contemporary research into leadership.

To this I bring my own lived experience of leading organisations; working in local government, as a drama practitioner, working in the community; as a loving husband and father.

Let's give you the opportunity to explore your key strengths or find solutions.

Coaching often uses the GROW mode, originated by Sir John Whitmore in 1992:

The first step is to:

  1. find your Goal

  2. understand your Reality

  3. discover your Options

  4. generate the Will

This isn't necessarily a linear model, its a model that enables you to find your strengths and realistic goals.

What is the change you want to make? Are you for example:

  • dealing with a diagnosis for ADHD

  • looking to change careers or find a new job

  • going for promotion and about to have an interview

  • leading a team for the first time

  • planning the next chapter of your life, perhaps retirement beckons

Clients

Over the last four years I have worked across a number of sectors. For example, the voluntary sector, working with young people from Herts Young Homeless.

‘Stuart’s ability to build positive relationships with our young people has been fantastic.’

In the creative industries, I’ve been working with Cloud Artisan for over three years, coaching young apprentices as well as key members of staff.

‘Stuart has been coaching me for the last couple of years. Now two years on, with his support and coaching the business has grown in capacity [and] tripled our turnover.’

More recently my group coaching practice within organisations has grown.

‘Stuart took the lead, but not feeding us the answers. The format [of the session] worked really well, enabling us to say things we think but don't normally bring up. He gave us the chance to speak, having others just listen was useful and enjoyable.’

Currently coaching teams, leaders and managers in:

•       Education

•       Health Care

•       Digital Technologies

•       Performing Arts

•       Film Production

•       Voluntary Sector

•       Post graduates working in the creative industries

What people say about my coaching?

Stuart’s ability to build positive relationships with our young people has been fantastic. Herts Young Homeless works with young people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and Stuart demonstrates a deep understanding of the challenges they have faced. His work has empowered our service users, giving them the confidence to use their voice for positive change for themselves and the wider community.

Leonie Maddin - Herts Young Homeless

Stuart is an exceptional coach. Having trained as a coach myself and worked with other coaches in the past I can honestly say that Stuart has been stand out in his approach. Stuart really held the space for us to work and always asked insightful, challenging questions that really pushed me to think beyond my own limiting perceptions of which there were many!

Stuart enabled me to take simple, decisive actions that gave me a sense of things shifting and moving in the right direction. He is a consummate professional and an all round lovely person who listens and cares deeply about what he does.

Alex - Filmmaker

Stuart has been coaching me for the last couple of years. Now two years on, with his support and coaching the business has grown in capacity, tripled our turnover, and all this has happened whilst I attained an Executive MBA and we have come out of Covid. His approach, which often leads me to challenging my own assumptions, is to really listen to what is being said and enable absolute clarity over decisions and goals when minutes earlier I couldn't have articulated them at all, is transformative.  Myself, my business, and my team have really benefited from Stuart's expertise and would highly recommend him as a coach

Emrys - CEO of a digital consultancy

I both thoroughly enjoyed, and benefited from my coaching sessions with Stuart, and warmly recommend him to others. He is an excellent, attentive, intelligent, and deeply respectful listener. With these skills to the fore, Stuart delivered our sessions expertly, to help me come to a greater understanding of issues that affect me professionally, and to develop ways to navigate them

Richard Sved, Director of 3rd Sector Mission Control

Really helpful…We all work independently so having the chance to come together and think together was really useful. We liked how Stuart created a safe space as he guided and supported us. Stuart was very clear throughout the sessions, repeating aims and expectations as he went. We got a lot from it...

Frequently Asked Questions About Coaching

What is coaching?

There are many approaches to coaching. Four years ago I trained in Relational Dynamics, an approach to work and life which draws on theories and tools from a wide range of sources including person-centred coaching, psychology, emotional intelligence, NLP and contemporary research into leadership and modern day communications.

  • I coach on a 1:2:1 basis, in person or over Zoom.

  • I also work with groups and teams.

  • I also facilitate Action Learning sets.

Why coaching?

Coaching is about being asked incisive questions that could unlock future goals and ambitions. It could also support you to find solutions. The model used is referred to as GROW:

  • Goal - what do you want?

  • Reality - what is happening now?

  • Options - What could you do?

  • Will - What will you do?

My experience is that you have all the answers within you, its my job to support you to find them. Sessions are always in confidence and you will never be judged.
